The world’s biggest coffee morning will be upon us this Friday. MacMillan Coffee Morning has taken off in a big way in the last few years, with schools, community centres, hospitals and workplaces up and down the country taking part, and all money raised going to Macmillan Cancer Support. Originally a social gathering for coffee, it has grown to the scale of national participation, with people buying or baking treats, whether savoury or sweet. So far Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan since the very first coffee morning in 1990.
Get involved
Whether you can host your own, encourage others to join in at work or find your nearest coffee morning, its very easy. You can buy your cakes and treats from the shop or impress your friends and colleagues with your own baked creations. Donations per cake or for a full morning of feasting, or your own bake-sale it’s very much up to you and your group how you want to do it – any donation is welcome, big or small. If you and your group are feeling competitive, why not get inspiration from a certain TV baking show and compete against each other to make the best cake? If you’re the organiser, make sure you’re signed up to the MacMillan website so you can get your free Coffee Morning Kit.
A great cause
Cancer is one of the UK’s biggest killers. Virtually everyone has had their lives touched by cancer in some way, and not least for those who are living with cancer themselves – and it affects your whole world - health, money, family, job; everything. MacMillan understands the importance of treating people as individuals, not patients. MacMillan are there for you for support in whatever way you need, totally focused on each person they help.
